Just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed and learned from your looking at your work and tutorials. Thank you so much, this was the best place I found for an introduction to basing that I found.
Although I am an artist, I had not worked on miniatures (or even thought of them in relation to art) since my RPG days. I still enjoy miniatures and gaming but after looking at your site, it inspired me to create small 4"-5" diam. scenes from a fictional world that I am currently writing about.
Your attention to detail combined with your ingenuity i.e.(using tiny branches, roots and wood chips) really gave me some great ideas and has provided me with an entirely new project in a new medium as well, and I thank you for that.
I would love to put up some pictures if you are still utilizing the guest gallery.
Much Respect

I just got some dirt from the grass in front of my apartment. It contains some very fine grain sand to small and larg-ish pebbles. Is very fine sand (from soil) ok for gluing and painting, to do i want larger grains, such as beach sand?

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you wind up doing with your Five Fingers project. This contest is shaping up to be quite a show. If we manage to finish that is! :D

Thanks, I have been asked to just take some pictures of bases I do as I finish figs. It takes a little longer but it is worth it I think.

I guess it depends on what your over all theme is. Kind of a generic answer I know. If I went turf-like I would probably use the foam based turf that I used on my Black Templars and other figs before I changed my style. In this tutorial I refer to it as sponge turf and my Warpwolf is standing in the middle of it. I would also dry brush oe lightly paint some hash marks if I could so it looked like a football field (I think that would be cool). All of your static grass is to long for turf. If your stadium was stone the BugKing on our forum has some good ideas for stone that you could apply. Click the link at the top for the forum.

Love your work and your tutorials. Very easy to follow and inspiring. But I have a basing question. What technique would you use for a BloodBowl figure? Obviously I could go stone or snow, but would you do anything special to create a turf-like look? Or just go heavy with the flock?
