Reliving my chlldhood
« on: March 03, 2010, 05:45:54 PM »

So, I've been stuck down in AZ for a while and ran out of primed stuff  to paint up and didn't feel like going and getting some primer.  I got really bored of just ripping all my TV shows onto my portable hard drive for deployment purposes and had to find something to do.

I remembered being a cheap nerd in high school and had a friend burn me a CD with a ton of Roms of old SNES games and figured by now it should be fairly easy to do.  2 hours later I finally found a site that A) had Roms and B) and Emulator that worked on a MAC and voila!  I now have Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, Chronotrigger, Super Punch Out and Donkey Kong Country playable on my computer!  Just might have to splurg and buy a generic SNES looking controller for my computer.  Grin

Be sure to get Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, etc., etc.

So many good games for the SNES.

It also had the best light gun I've ever used.  Too bad no one did anything good with it Sad Tongue

I finally downloaded a DOS emulator in order to play TIE Fighter.  Forgot how unforgiving that game is XD

Also Blood, Duke Nukem 3d, Master of Orion, Warcraft II, etc., etc.

It's another Build engine title.  Really sadistic fun.  Spray-Can + Lighter = Screams

Im right there with Hexeris and Volf about how friggin old we are Grin

After the atari I upgraded to the commadore 64 baby! I played the Oak outta Rambo and Bruce lee. As for arcade games I spent many a quarter on Dragons lair to the point where I could pass it with ONlLY one life! now thats reliving my childhood. Brett was probably not born then or he was eating his own crap when he was a baby Evil

Ahh the memories!

Bit of a necro, but, if you don't mind reading about games you used to play, here're a bunch of playthroughs done by various people.  They're hilarious reads.  I especially liked the Animal Crossing, Star Wars: Rebellion, and Icewind Dale II playthroughs Cheesy

Ooh, I love LP's.  Be sure to check on youtube as well, some people can be much funnier with their voice.
